Something about L.O.V.E.

I have been thinking to post something but never really have time to sit down and think what to write because I am way too outdated with my updates.... Read this story on Facebook and felt touched... Just thought of sharing... =)

Beautiful story.... A very poor man lived with his wife.

One day, his wife, who had very long hair asked him to buy her a comb for her hair to grow well and to be well-groomed.

The man felt very sorry and said no. He explained that he did not even have enough money to fix the strap of his watch he had just broken.

She did not insist on her request,

The man went to work and passed by a watch shop, sold his damaged watch at a low price and went to buy a comb for his wife.

He came home in the evening with the comb in his hand ready to give to his wife.

He was surprised when he saw his wife with a very short hair cut.

She had sold her hair and was holding a new watch band.

Tears flowed simultaneously from their eyes, not for the futility of their actions, but for the reciprocity of their love.

MORAL: To love is nothing, to be loved is something but to love and be loved by the one you love, that is EVERYTHING. Never take love for granted.

FINALLY....Again....

It has been awhile...

Many things were going on since the last post.... I have been to different places with different people which let me brought home different experiences and memory... Maybe just some brief recap...

After Bali, I went to Cherating for a short trip with bro, Mel and Jeremy. The main purpose was to chill and relax. The purpose was fulfilled. We also celebrated our First Year Anniversary there at a restaurant I like. A simple but memorable one. We have been through some ups and downs in the past one year due to his change in career which required him to put more effort and time. Thank God that things are going on better now for him...

Then, Jeremy's family decided to go to Bandung for a short shopping trip... Partly to get some wardrobe changeover for Justin when he goes to boarding school in Singapore. It was not my first time travelling with the Chee family, but first time abroad. We were told by the locals that we shouldn't have gone there during the weekend because it will be very crowded with people coming from Jakarta to shop. Lesson learnt when the time we were trapped in the van was longer than the time we spent at our destinations. Jeremy, his mom and I did have a good time shopping. But the poor 12-year-old boy almost wanted to kill himself while waiting for us and Uncle Chee tried his best to cheer him up. The hotel we stayed was awesome and it was attached to a mall with many good places to shop, many good restaurants to dine in and most importantly an arcade for Justin - the only place he really had fun besides meal time. =) In short, it was a tiring but still awesome trip!

For our annual Christmas gathering, we have decided to go to Pulau Langkawi as we have not been there for years even though we lived so near to it. Babe was there with us for the trip but sadly, John and Eric couldn't make it. I managed to book The Eagle Hotel at quite low price for a big room that fits 5 adults with lots more space left to move about. Probably because it is a new hotel and it is quite far from the town but just right beside the airport. Due to Christmas and holiday season, everywhere was crowded. We didn't manage to take the cable car. =( But we had a great time at the Underwater World (many people think that it is a boring place) and the Mangrove. I organized the first time ever gift exchange in our family. It was quite fun. Everyone prepared a present and we cast lots to determine who gets which present. The one who prepared the present should give a hint to the present and the one who got it has to guess before opening the present. Simple and it was just for fun. =) It was a warm Christmas celebration with friends and family last year.

For 2012, I kicked start the year with a trip to Krabi with babe and his hockey friends. I personally like the trip a lot although many people told me Phuket would be more fun and interesting. I have not been there but I think it is not as bad as I was told. It is a good place for chillaxing. One thing I love the most was the Thai massage which I had it everyday because it is awesome and cheap! We stayed at a very nice hotel at the busy street whereby there were many shops that sell souvenirs, clothes, bags, tailor-made suits & dresses etc. There were restaurants all along the street as well. It was the most random trip I have gone to because we did not plan anything except booking for the hotel. All activities were only decided and planned when we were there. We had fun island-hopping and snorkeling and kayaking. The last time I went for kayaking was probably 10 years ago... =( Not to forget also the adventurous motor ride to the town market! I enjoyed this trip and really don't mind going back there again!!!

Then, it was Chinese New Year which I definitely will be at hometown most of the time. Many of my friends only took few days leave for CNY. Hence, I only managed to meet up with very few of them... So there's nothing much to be shared about CNY really.

On the second week of CNY, I went to Macau with babe and his parents. It was a 4D3N trip and people were asking me what are we going to do there if we do not plan to go Hong Kong at all. I have no answer but it will be my first time to Macau. I checked the weather forecast and predicted that it will be quite cold. So I asked my dearest boyfriend whether I should get a thicker jacket. He told me that it would probably like the weather in Genting, a leather jacket might be sufficient. The day we reached Macau was really cold. We were told that it was probably the coldest day ever they have experienced recently. @.@ Soon after we dropped our luggage at the hotel, we went for lunch and shopping nearby. My boyfriend immediately bought a thicker jacket. T.T But good thing I brought extra jacket. =) Besides shopping, we spent the rest of the time eating, or checking out all the big casinos. Babe and I don't gamble, bad at it. So most of the time, we were just walking around looking for different types of drinks or watching people gamble. We still had lots of fun though. We did check out the slot machines when we were really tired or bored because those were the only seats we can use for resting without needing to spend a lot of money. Hehehe... I like Macau for its weather and it was also another random trip whereby everything we did was quite spontaneous. Next time, I would like to explore Hong Kong maybe.

That would be all for trips and travelling I have done thus far since my last post. Now looking forward for the next one in July to BANGKOK!! And I hope Aaron and Persis will join us eventually!!!! Yay~~~

Next post would probably be about Bersih 3.0. That most recent and unforgettable experience. Hope I will be able to blog about it before I forget... =)

*Thanks if there's anyone still reading my blog... =)

J.u.L.y. B.a.L.i. T.r.I.p

We have bought the air tickets last year around August if not mistaken. I thought it’s hard for a year to pass… But it wasn’t!! Now, we have been there and back from Bali and move on with life… =( But the memories we had in Bali stay in mind forever!!

I have to say I love that place!!! It’s peaceful and relaxing… I just felt 3 days there weren’t enough and I wish to go there again soon… Besides, the trip was memorable because of the companions as well. We had so much fun together even though our planning was quite last-minute. But it did turn out smooth… After all, it was meant to be a free-and-easy trip… And I have to mention as well that the air fare was super cheap! We got it at RM 169 with sky bus fare and insurance. Not bad huh?

So let’s start with our experience in Bali!!!!

From top left corner (Clockwise): Derrick, Jinny(me), Aaron, Sze-Lyn, Jeremy(middle)

Above is the photo of the “Legendary Five” in this Bali Trip…. Hahaha…. It was supposed to be “Legendary Seven”… T.T

Below, on the left was where we had our first meal in Bali. Probably I was too hungry, I thought the food was quite good! The chicken and the quill eggs were yummy… And the price ain’t that expensive. That piece of chicken was a whole chicken thigh! Not bad I guess?

Left: The place we had dinner --> Nasi Pecel Bu Tinuk
Middle: Layout of the Family Suite in Jati Homestay
Right: Some photos taken with Dewa who is the owner of the homestay

That is Jati Homestay in the middle. The place we stayed while we were in Ubud, Bali for 2 nights. We arrived at Denpasar Airport around 9.30pm. So Dewa(owner of the homestay who picked us up from airport) suggested us to have dinner nearby before going to Ubud. By the time we reached Ubud, it was about 11.30pm. The town was dead quiet! All the shops were closed except convenient stores and there was one just right outside our homestay. From the main road, we will need to walk down a dark (because the lights were off already) alley and take few turnings before we could reach the destination. I was thinking, “Oh man, what kind of place we are staying…” But when we finally reached the destination, we found the place was surprisingly good! It was simple but very comfy! We took the family suites which consist of one single bed and one double bed with attached bathroom in each suite. Outside each room, there is a small area with sofa and coffee table where we can hang out. The rooms are all facing paddy field which make us feel so close to nature. There is also a small dining area where everyone has breakfast before going out to explore Bali. We can also hang out there at night when all the shops are closed. WiFi is available at the dining area. Oh, it's only about RM20 per person per night!!! Cheap right?

FIRST DAY

Left: Goa Gajah
Middle: Tirta Empul
Right: Coffee Plantation

Our first stop was Goa Gajah (left)which you won’t get to see “gajah” (elephant). The reason why it is called “Goa Gajah” is the entrance of the cave where the believers do their meditation looks a little like elephant. Bali made up of mostly Hindu which explains why there are so many temples around. When we visited the temples, we had to wear “sarung” if our bottoms are shorter than the knees, be it guys or girls. This is to show respect to the Gods. Then we went to Tirta Empul Temple (or Holy Spring Water Temple), shown in the middle. Believers would come here to take a dip in the holy spring water pool for good luck or to wash away the bad luck. But burnt offerings have to be made first before entering the pool. After that, we went to a coffee plantation (right) where “Luwak or Luak coffee” is produced. Sadly, that little fella (Mr. Luwak) was sleeping while we were there, so we couldn’t take a clear photo of it. We also got to taste Bali coffee, cocoa drinks, lemon grass tea, ginger tea and honey lemon tea for free. For Luwak Coffee, you will then need to pay to taste it. It’s Rp 30,000 which is about RM 10 per cup. It tastes different from the normal coffee. It’s more aromatic and not really bitter without any sugar. I prefer it without sugar. =) You can see from the photo how indulged I was… Hehe… They should ask me to act in their ads if they have. =P

Left: Lunch @ Volcano Kintamani (left three) & Paddy Tegallalang (right three)
Right: Spa & Massage @ Verona Spa

Then we went to Kintamani Volcano to have our buffet lunch. The food was just ok and quite expensive. The main attraction is that you get to look at the volcano as you take your lunch. BUT, it was raining and cloudy and foggy when we were there… =( Potong steam!!! But the weather was very chilling, so we had to wear jacket. Me and Jeremy only, to be exact. Then we took a long ride to see paddy field! Tegallalang Paddy!!! Initially, we were thinking, “Paddy fields in Malaysia tak cukup banyak ke? Especially for me who come from Kedah! Haha…. But I must say that was different!! And you must go there to see the difference. That’s why I didn’t put a clear photo of it. =P Then we took long ride again back to Ubud town where we went for massage and spa at Verona Spa (right). According to our tour guide, Mr. Wayan, that was actually Javanese Massage, not Balinese Massage. But I believe we all had quite an experience. The atmosphere was good, just that their massage is not “kuat” enough. For an one-and-a-half-hour massage and spa, it's only about RM 45 if I still remember correctly.
Left: Dinner @ Bebek Bengil (Highly recommended!)
Right: Birthday celebration for Babe!

After the massage, we decided to walk around town and head to the famous, strongly recommended by many and legendary restaurant by ourselves. It is none other than Restaurant Bebek Bengil (Dirty Duck Diner). This restaurant is of course famous of its duck. We got to try Crispy Duck which really tasted AWESOME!!!! The duck is so crispy that you can also eat the bone!! We ordered three different sets to share among five. The other two were Deep Fried Chicken rice and Balinese Nasi Campus. All were tasty!!! Must try~~ I like the atmosphere of the restaurant as well. Too bad all the Tatami type of tables were all reserved. Besides, we didn’t get to try the Smoked Whole Duck because that requires one day reservation in advance. =( After dinner, we decided to buy some cakes for supper from the bakery opposite the restaurant. But the main reason we were buying cakes was to CELEBRATE BABE’s BIRTHDAY!!! Surprise!!! Haha… I hope he was surprised because his birthday was supposed to be 3 days later. Hah! We had a simple celebration at the homestay for him. And I surprised him AGAIN by dropping his DSLR onto the floor!! =P (Sorry sayang…) After the celebration, we continued with our favorite game of the trip – Chor Dai Dee and also transferring photos from all three cameras to laptop!! Also, thanks to the convenient store located not far from our homestay, we managed to get some supplies like supper and drinks to help us get through the night! =)

SECOND DAY

Top Left: Lunch @ Babi Guling Andi Jaya
Top Right: Pura Ulun Danu Bratan
Bottom Left & Right: Tanah Lot Temple

First stop of the day was Ubud market which I did not have much photos for this place because I was too busy shopping. =P It was our first experience shopping in Bali and we have not learnt the art of bargaining yet. I think I was “slaughtered”. Well, then I learned the lesson. But I have to say that it can be quite scary shopping in Bali. Some of the shop owners can be quite scary. Besides, my friends are correct. You MUST bargain to reduce the price to at least 50 to 70% of the price they offered! After the shopping spree, we left Ubud to continue exploring Bali. We spent a lot of time in the van for the second day because all the places were quite far apart. Photo on top left was the Babi Guling which everyone also said must try even though not very nice because it is the famous delicacy in Bali. The restaurant that they recommended was Ibu Oka which was located in the Ubud town. However, our tour guide a.k.a drive suggested that we can go to the not so famous shop but they serve more authentic Babi Guling. With the many comments saying it’s not that tasty, hence we went with pretty low expectations I guess. And it turned out to be quite nice I would say!! We had one place each and ordered another two extra plates to share. It even transformed Miss Nichole Tan Sze-Lyn who doesn’t take pork! She actually ate more than I did. According to Wayan, every Balinese family rare pigs at home because they need to make whole Babi Guling during big occasion as offering to their gods. On the top right, it’s Pura Ulun Danu Bratan, a water temple. The weather there is quite chilling and windy even though the sun was shining brightly. We actually took many SS photos there. (SS = syiok sendiri) For bottom left and right, it’s the Tanah Lot temple which is famous for watching sunset. We were there for about 2 hours to wait for the sunset. So imagine how much SS photos we took again. =P But the cloud has blocked the view of a nice sunset… =( After dinner, we checked in to Tunes Hotel in Kuta and went to walk around the Kuta Town. It was more happening at Kuta. Even though most of the shops selling souvenirs and local stuff were closed, there were many outlets like Quiksilver, Hurley, Roxy, etc which opened until midnight.

LAST DAY

Left: Nusa Dua Beach & Turtle Island
Middle: Padang-Padang Beach
Right: Uluwatu Cliff Temple and Dinner @ Jimbaran Bay

We all became beach boys and girls because we spent a lot of time at the beach. We had our breakfast in KFC and then headed to Nusa Dua Beach. This beach has more sea activities like diving, snorkeling, parasailing, jetskiing, etc. We chose to go to the TURTLE ISLAND where we got to play with the turtles. There’s nothing much there actually but just to feel more like tourists maybe? Hahaha… Derrick and babe tried out the Flying Fish after much bargaining with the locals. It’s all about bargaining… Haha! I was pretty tempted to try parasailing but it was stop due to low tide. =( After that, we went to the other end of Nusa Dua Beach to watch the Water Blow. Too bad I couldn’t find photos of this place to combine and upload. Will try. Then it was the Padang Padang Beach which was famous for surfing. I guess we were there at the wrong time of the day. It was very hot and the tide wasn’t suitable for surfing. Of course we were not there for surfing. We were there to check out the surfers… Hahaha!!! Then we went to Uluwatu Cliff Temple. Astonising!!! Awesome!!! Breath-taking… The scenery was so nice!!!! Of course I won’t show that much photos so you can go there and check out by yourself… But I do wish I have my own DSLR to take photos… =P The thing with this place is there were many monkeys who will snatch your personal belongings like spectacles, necklace, etc. You will need to pay the locals to buy fruits from them in order to exchange with the monkeys. But Wayan tried his best to protect us and keep reminding us to keep our spectacles first until we got to a “safe” place. Haha! Last stop of the day was dinner at Jimbaran Bay. Haha! We were so embarrassed I think! We were so stressed when we saw the menu because it was so expensive especially for the couple sets. Then the other menu is whereby the seafood will be chosen by us and weighed. It’s much cheaper that way but obviously all of us seldom go to the wet market. So we had no idea roughly how heavy a fish would be. So we thought it’s still going to cost us a lot. Wayan was stressed to see us stressed as well. But after choosing and weighing, we were relieved… Haha! The food was just ok but the environment was quite good. They all have a band that will go from table to table to sing songs according to the country you are from. But they came to our table and sang us a song none of us know. Haha!! We got back to hotel after that to shower before heading out for more shopping again… This time we did better in bargaining… We managed to buy a dress at about RM10… =P Then Aaron, Derrick and I went for massage and reflexology. While Sze-Lyn and babe decided to go back and rest awhile. But babe joined us later for shoulder massage too. After all that, we went back to hotel to play Chor Dai Dee again because we have decided to stay up for the night until our flight. We managed to wake Sze-Lyn up but I went to sleep after awhile. =P

After countless rounds of Chor Dai Dee, we were finally off to airport… Bon voyage, Bali!!! We will be come back here again!!!

It was indeed a great trip… And I am looking forward for the next one. =)

Oh…. It was babe’s birthday on 14th July. The day we flew back. Hope he did enjoy himself as much as I did in Bali….

Cheers…. (Opppssss…. Sound like Mangoyan!!)

Next up -----> Haven't thought of it yet... =P

B.i.R.t.H.d.A.y

I wanted to update my blog last week but Blogger was having some technical problems I guess where I can only read blog but cannot sign in to update.

Last week was my birthday... The last time I blogged about my birthday was two years ago... Which wasn't that memorable... This year, I enjoyed my birthday... I have had a few simple but great celebrations with people I care and people who care for me. =)

I had my pre-birthday celebration dinner on Tuesday with Babe because he has an important game the next day. We went to d'Italiane Kitchen at Jaya 33. Never really fancy Italian food, mainly because I didn't really like Italiannes. But d'Italiane Kitchen was good. We ordered a Spicy Beef Bacon Aglio Olio and Cheese Stuffed Beef. Both were nice! Probably we were both very hungry, hence the two dishes were just nice to fill our hungry stomach... The decoration and environment of the restaurant is simple but nice.... Perhaps I will let the picture speaks for it...

After dinner, we decided to catch a movie since the night was still young. But we only have one choice at Tropicana City Mall because weekdays don't usually have many midnight show available. The others were already started showing when we arrived. Hence, we bought tickets for 11.00p.m. show. Since we still have quite long time before the movie, we went to have a drinks at Starbucks. When we went up, we were quite surprised with the amount of people who were going to watch that movie either.... It's a 11.00p.m. show, so I had my birthday countdown with Vin Diesel, The Rock and etc... Hehehe... Yeah, we watched Fast and Furious 5!!! I didn't watch the previous 4 episodes but I think this was quite nice~ After movie, babe sent me home. I saw him carrying a bag and wonder how come he brings his bag along... Then only I realizes that was my birthday present!!! A Deuter backpack for my outing or hiking which I have been wanting to get one since quite some time ago!!!! After he went home, I was just checking out the bag... and there's some more things inside the bag!! Haha!! I wonder what if I didn't check the bag and realize the gift inside... Hehehe...

The next day I had lunch with my two lovely colleagues, Karen and Isabelle who purposely came to pick me up and bring me to have good food!!! =) After that they dropped me at Times Square to meet up with Babe for a short shopping time~

At night, I went to support Babe's game at Sunway Pyramid... Man, that game was super duper "chi kek"!!!! I really wished they won but it was a good fight though~

Friday afternoon, another colleague of mine gave me a treat of my favorite Japanese food at Sushi Tei... =P

Now, I am back at hometown to celebrate Belated Mother's Day and my Belated Birthday... Sis bought a cake from Penang... Nice one! It's Rum 'N' Raisin~~ "Someone" is really jealous that he didn't get to eat... Hehehe.... We had fried crab yesterday night and will be having different type of crabs again tonight... Wuahahaha..... I think all of us might die of high cholesterol.... =P

Well, to compensate "someone" for not getting to try the Rum 'N' Raisin cake, here's a home-made cake which still not sure whether it jadi or not.... Hopefully it does taste alright.... =) Else, I shall not let it spoil my image.... Hahaha....

Guess that's all for my birthday.... Thanks to all who have sent my warm and lovely birthday wishes.... I appreciate all of you!!!! <3 <3 <3

B.r.E.a.K

It's Thursday.... Tomorrow will be Friday and then comes weekend!!!
I do look forward for weekend... But then another new week comes after the weekend...
Then another month...
Then another year... Then.... Hahaha....
Have to accept that time flies... =)

*************************************************************************************
Maybe not many people know that my parents divorced so many years ago...
We stayed with mom.
Haven't really kept in touch with my father since he decided not to give us monthly allowance...
Years back, he got a stroke... Then he stopped working... We visited him a couple of times.
Last year, he got another minor stroke... We visited him few times...
Weeks ago, he got another stroke... We visited him at the hospital during the last trip back to hometown...
Honestly, he feels strange to me... He looked so much older and weaker...
I stood in front of him, thinking hard what to say... I was told that he didn't speak since he admitted to hospital.
Even the doctor wasn't sure whether he does not want to talk or that he cannot talk.
I prayed for him before I left. The only I can do and he cannot stop me from doing so too. =)
Tears almost came out when I was in the elevator.
I asked myself many times, "Have I really forgiven him?"
I am not sure of the answer. I want to, but I am not sure whether I have...
I am sure my sis has greater love than me. She visited him many times and kept updating us of his condition...
I pray for him...
I know about honoring our parents...
But "parent" = one who gives birth to or nurtures and raises a child; a relative who plays a role of guardian....
He does not feel like someone like that to me....
Am I mad or angry at him? Honestly, no.
But he still feels strange or not familiar to me....
He was not in my life for so long....
The fact is, he is still my father.
Mom called yesterday and obviously she is not keen in knowing much or doing much for him.
I know mom has not forgiven him.
The good thing is that she doesn't hate him. At least not as much I think. =)
I will keep praying for my father and that God will take control.
I must say I have a heavy heart, I struggle, I hesitate.
I pray, Lord, to check my heart.

*************************************************************************************
I wonder where do all the emo-ness come from?
Lunch time is over soon and time to get back to work. =)
